It remains to be a representation of the colorfulness of the festivities and spontaneous expression of the artistic sensibility of people. From time immemorial, womenfolk of Bengal have been using these designs for ceremonial purposes. However, nowadays not many people are acquainted with the art of Alpona. So, on this Pohela Boishakh our aim is to unify the nation under one identity by bringing back the oldest folk art of our culture.
A micro-site and a Facebook page have also been initiated for communication on the digital platform. Sample outlines of Berger Alpona will be shared through these social media platforms. Participants will have to fill these outlines with color and among them, 5 best participants will be shortlisted and will be awarded.
